Harbor Bible Church is a new church being planted in the Lake Nona area of Orlando. Our desire is to be a gospel-centered church where outsiders are welcomed, disciples are formed, and missionaries are sent.
We will begin training this fall (2026) with the Orlando Church Planting Network. We are also currently pursuing affiliation with the SEND Network of the Southern Baptist Convention and with Harbor Network.
We affirm: The Baptist Faith and Message 2000The Gospel Coalition Statement of Faith
Scripture - We believe the Bible is the inspired, inerrant, and infallible Word of God. Because of this conviction, it is the authority for everything we do. It will drive our teaching, our ministry, and our operation.Community - We believe that many things can bring people to a church, but community is what keeps them there. We aim to emphasize small groups. Our desire is to cultivate an environment where the “one another” aspect of Christianity is seen as just as valuable to the life of the church as the Sunday service. We aim to do this by enabling consistent, predictable, and open times for intentional connection.Missions - Programs, events, buildings, and production can be good things. However, they can also be distracting things. The purpose of the church, first and foremost, is to make disciples, both near and far. Christians are a sending people. We intend to enhance our sending nature by constantly engaging in multiplication, whether that’s creating new small groups, sending out missionaries, or sending out members to start churchesPrayer - We desire for our church to be a praying church. We want our leaders to be praying for our people and our people to be praying for our leaders. We want our church to be praying for our region. This church will not be built through attractive personalities or entertainment. This location is hard soil. The enemy has a stronghold over this region. There are many obstacles to establishing a prominent ministry in this area. We truly desire for the hand of God to be with us in all our efforts, after all, it is Christ who will build His church!
At Harbor Bible Church, our practice will be to engage in expository preaching. This means, we allow the text drive the sermon, not the opinions of man. We believe that Scripture alone is inspired, inerrant, and authoritative (2 Timothy 3:16), and, because of this, we will preach through books of the Bible, in context, applying them to life and ultimately making much of Jesus each week.
Lake Nona is one of the fastest-growing regions in Central Florida, yet it remains severely under-churched. We believe healthy local churches are God's primary means for making disciples and reaching communities with the gospel.
We are actively engaged in discussions to meet at a new school in the Moss Park area (Northeast of Lake Nona Proper).
Absolutely! Our interest meetings will serve as an opportunity for people to hear the vision and mission of Harbor Bible Church. We simply pray that these meetings will give people reasons to consider joining us.
Prayer - Pray for the work ahead of us. Pray for the assimilation of a strong core team. Pray for the God’s provision.Commitment - Committing to serve as part of our core team is one of the biggest ways anyone can support the work we are doing. The aim is not to shuffle sheep among established churches, however, we do need people who can lock arms with us, lead various ministries, and serve joyfully as we seek to reach our community for Christ.Giving - We would also appreciate financial support as the ministry expenses already begin to accumulate through startup expenses. Once gatherings begin to occur, our expenses will continue to grow.
We aim to officially launch Harbor Bible Church in the fall of 2027!
